Oare licenta ramane la fel , free chiar si pentru proiectele comerciale, daca scot un SDK cu fizica pe GPU?

Oricum, probabil (sper... sincer sper asta) ca Nvidia a cumparat Ageia pentru partea hardware, nu atat de mult pentru cea software.

Pai cred ca asa e avand in vedere ca vor sa isi promoveze enigneul fizic pe GPU (quantum sau cum ii zicea) sa nu aiba concurenta cu PPU-urile. Is curios daca doar pentru quantum scot SDK sau si pe placi cu PS 3.0..

Sa avem o gama noua de placi video cu PPU integrat Very Happy? Ar fi interesant, probabil le-ar zice gaming cards, nu video cards. Oricum, ar fi interesant, sa lasam GPUul pentru grafica si sa avem un procesor dedicat si limitat numai la calcule fizice.

Nu, NVIDIA pretind ca ei l-au inventat pentru ca se refera la ala programabil. 3dfx n-au inventat nimic, ca rasterizere hardware existau deja. Singura problema cu alea care existau deja era ca trebuia sa-ti vinzi casa ca sa-ti cumperi unul; meritul lu' 3dfx e ca le-au facut accesibile pentru consumatorul de rind.

Nvidia nu a introdus GPU-ul. Ce au introdus ei a fost termenul 'GPU'. Ati a incercat sa introduca propriul termen (cred ca VPU - Visual Procesing Unit) dar termenul introdus de Nvidia a fost cel care a ramas.

Pai gpu + fpu avem deja, caci gpu are fpu integrat ca si cpu-ul, doar ca gpu e mai specializat pe operatii cu floating point.

Oricum ideea e foarte buna si ar aduce o noua generatie de jocuri, cel putin din punct de vedere al performantei.
Dar pana sa putem sa punem si noi asa ceva pe pc, trebuie sa mai asteptam ceva timp caci doar traim in Romania

Nu numai ca nu gasesti nimic sanatos la noi, dar astia isi golesc stocurile la noi in tara.
Daca apare o tehnologie noua prin SUA, la noi intra pe piata precedenta, ca sa isi termine stocurile. Cred ca noi suntem printre singurele tari care comercializeaza DDR1 si placi de baza compatibile.
Dar asta cred ca o sa se schimbe cat de curand ca deja incepe sa se miste si pe la noi cate ceva.
