Back! Here it is guys: the very first game I developed using OpenGl. It is a tetris like game, my own version of it. I developed the game in highschool, and it was quite an experience, I learned a lot about OpenGl, win32 programming, programming in general and I got used to big projects(well, bigger then the one's made at school). I release the game with full source code, you can do whatever you want with it, you can even say it's yours, and make some money out of it, I don't care(although it would not be a nice thing), the main reason I release the source code is for academic reasons, if anyone will learn something out of it then the purpose would have been achieved(although I realize it is difficult/impossible to follow such big quantity of source code). To compile the project you'll have to copy the folder engine to d:. If you don't have D: then copy it to C: and modify the #includes that are relevant to this modification.
What I noticed is that amongst romanian developers and amongst romanians in general always appear conflicts because of self-pride. "Look what I did, I'm so cool and I'm so...". Usually the guys that are so happy and sure of their knowledge don't really know that much things about programming and graphics, because if they would, they would not react like spoiled children. A very interesting post in
www.gamedev.net emphasized this and divided intelligently the 3 categories of people present on the gamedev forums:
The first are the beginners, they ask only easy to answer questions and they always get the response, which is good because they can learn this way.
Now come the ones that ar above beginner, it is this moment when pride is starting to appear, they feel better than the beginner but don't think yet about the advanced ones.
Lastly the programming gurus, are the people who agree with everybody and disagree with nobody. These guys are above the two stages, mature, know what they want , who they are and already have the respect of the others.
Where do you want to be?

Hope you like the game
